O.W.L.s readathon has come to an end!

Wow that was some ride. This was my first time taking part in the O.W.L.s readathon, and it was amazing! I read so many books this month, but only some qualified for this readathon prompts.

My career of choice was Mind Medic since that’s the equivalent of Psychiatry in the real world, and that’s what I’m majoring in. I had a structured TBR but I felt really panicked following it so I quit that, and just ended up reading whatever I felt like.

For the career of Mind Medic there are 8 required exams. Without further delay, here’s my wrap up!

Exams Completed:

๐Ÿ”ฎAncient Runes: Retelling – The Raven’s Tale by Cat Winters โœ”๏ธ

The Raven’s Tale was an ARC, and one that I was really excited to read! When I found out it was a retelling about Edgar Allan Poe and his muses I knew I was going to love it.

Rating: 4/5

๐Ÿ”ฎArithmancy: Book with more than one author – Half-Minute Horrors by Susan Rich, Various โœ”๏ธ

Some amazing authors were included in this book, and it seemed like a quick read. I enjoyed some stories more than others but it was a really amusing and at times creepy read.

Rating: 3/5

๐Ÿ”ฎCharms: Adult Book – Shades of Magic Vol. 1: The Steel Prince โœ”๏ธ

Shades of Magic was a quick and fun read. The art style was a bit difficult to get into at times. The story on the other hand is interesting to get into.

Rating: 3/5

๐Ÿ”ฎDefense Against the Dark Art: Title starting with R – The Red Scrolls of Magic by Cassandra Clare and Welsey Chu โœ”๏ธ

Anything Cassandra Clare writes I have to read. The Red Scrolls of Magic was a fun adventure and I loved getting to see some of my favorite characters. Plus, the plot twist at the end!

Rating: 3.5/5

๐Ÿ”ฎHerbology: Plant on cover – Ironside by Holly Black โœ”๏ธ

Finally finished the last book in the Modern Faery’s Tale trilogy. Love how strange Holly Black’s books are. This trilogy was recommended to me by everyone, and since reading The Cruel Prince and The Coldest Girl in Coldtown I knew I had to try this one too.

Rating: 4/5

๐Ÿ”ฎMuggle Studies: Contemporary – Dreaming Darkly by Caitlin Kittredge โœ”๏ธ

Dreaming Darkly was another ARC that I needed to read. This book has been labelled contemporary by some, and after reading it I feel like it fits the category. It was an interesting read, but it was a lot different than I thought.

Rating: 3/5

๐Ÿ”ฎPotions: Sequel – Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout โœ”๏ธ

Never thought I’d enjoy a book that has aliens and romance at the same time but here I am. I binged the first two books in a week, and although I put off reading the third I can’t wait to get back to it!

Rating: 4/5

๐Ÿ”ฎTransfiguration: Sprayed edges or red on the cover – Civil War II by Brian Michael Bendis โœ”๏ธ

Okay, I read this one out of curiosity. Captain Marvel and Iron Man are both two of my most favorites from the Marvel universe. This comic just made me hate everything. I hated the way Captain Marvel was written. She made the dumbest decisions and I honestly couldn’t think of her as the same Captain Marvel that I love. Apparently I’m not the only one who thought this way, and therefore I’m going to pretend that I never read this comic.

Rating: 2/5

So in conclusion I managed to finish all 8 exams!
