Welcome to my The Reading Rush reading blog!

I’m so excited to be sharing this with you all today. This was my first time joining The Reading Rush. The timing was never perfect for me before but here we are! This was such an amazing experience. I loved challenging myself and finding out how many books I could actually read in a week. I found some new favorites (that I can’t recommend enough), reread an old and forever favorite, and basically spent a lot of time screaming about all of these.

Recap

DAY 1

The first day of The Reading Rush went by smoothly. I’m the kind of person who reads like 4 books all at the same time. I just like to stress myself out like that. I ended up reading 271 pages across 3 books, The Wolf of Oren-Yaro, The Kingdom of Copper, and Letter To My Daughter.

DAY 2

Day 2 was even better than day 2. I finished reading Teen Titans: Beast Boy for the prompt read a book completely outside. In my case I read it next to an open window. I read 289 pages a majority of it from the book I finished but I did read 50 pages of The Wolf of Oren-Yaro and 53 pages of The Kingdom of Copper.

DAY 3

I tried to divide all my books on the first 5 days so I could make progress through all of them. I did successfully finish reading The Wolf of Oren-Yaro for the read a book starting with ‘The’. I would recommend if you’re looking for a high fantasy adult book. The book was amazing! I’ll be sharing my review soon on here but take my word for it, super intriguing 😍 I also finished reading Letter To My Daughter for the read a book in a genre you want to read more of.  It wasn’t exactly what I expected but I still enjoyed it. I did read about 50 pages of The Kingdom of Copper as well. In total I read 358 pages!

Shameless self promo but I love how this picture turned out! You can find my bookstagram here!

DAY 4

Day 4 was slightly more chill then the previous days. I read a total of 275 pages. I was focused mostly on The Perks of Being a Wallflower (reread) but I only read 53 pages before I put it down to continue The Kingdom of Copper. I read 222 pages in one day because of how obsessed I am with this series!

DAY 5

On day 5 I started reading Mirage! One of my anticipated reads. I read 83 pages and then continued to read 213 pages of The Kingdom of Copper. In total I read 296 pages.

DAY 6

I finished The Kingdom of Copper on day 6! It was for the prompt read a book with a cover the color of your birth stone. I was so scared I wouldn’t be able to finish it in time but I loved it so much and I ended up binging the last 216 pages.  This was at 3 AM of course. Goodness I can’t recommend these books enough. I was on edge the entire time and I felt like I couldn’t read fast enough. Going to be starting the last book in a few days. I also continued reading Mirage and got it done! In total I read 453 pages which is so much more than all the other days. I’m so happy with the progress.

DAY 7

It’s the last day! Today was the most chill reading day by far. I had already finished all the books on my tbr and The Perks of Being a Wallflower was my last. It fulfilled two prompts, read a book that inspired a movie and a book set on a different continent than yours. I read the remaining 175 pages.

This was possibly the best experience! I’m so happy that I decided to join even if it was last minute. I also stuck to my tbr which was a complete surprise. I never really thought about how many books I would be able to finish in a week so 6 books is definitely great. I hope you enjoyed and read some great books if you participated! Do let me know how it went for you.

  3. You did amazing! I decided to join at the last minute and didn’t set any specific TBR, so it’s nice to just read what I want to read (I tried to fill the prompt though). I managed to read 4 books, which made me really happy! 🙂
