Welcome to my Diversify that Shelf readathon announcement!
I’m so excited to share this! I posted about this a while ago on Twitter and it got so much love. I’m so glad that this was received so warmly and I’m looking forward to starting it with you all. I’m going to make sure this readathon is held yearly but might make it multiple times a year too? I guess we’ll see how this goes.
Here are the prompts! I wanted there to be variety but I also didn’t want anyone to feel limited. Most prompts can be changed to whatever you want (in terms of identity, culture, etc). The most important thing is to read diversely. That’s all I want out of this. There are so many amazing books out there and I just hope this will help many of you find them.
The readathon will be held for 10 days. I know there are a lot of prompts and just to clarify you most definitely do not have to finish them all (probably impossible anyway). I made a lot just to give you space to get creative and to get an idea about what’s happening here. You can also count a book for multiple prompts.
There are no rules really. I want this to be as chill as possible. If you make a tbr post do tag me in it. Whether it’s on your blog, youtube, twitter, instagram, etc. I would love to see what you’re reading and to support your content as well.

Hi Noura, I am not able to read the prompts as it’s all in graphics. Would you mind typing them out so that this announcement is inclusive and everyone can read it? Screenreaders don’t pick up on graphics. However, I will try my best to participate as much as possible, but I have to work that week. My holidays start on the 17th π¦

I’m in! Though I think I’m just going to Diversify My Shelf in the whole month of August. I’ve been doing pretty good at reading diversely in June and July, and I still have so very many diverse reads I still want to pick up. So now I just have to narrow down my August TBR for a more specific TBR for DTS Readathon. This sounds great! Thanks for putting it together, Noura!
