Book Series I’m planning to start and finish in 2020

Every book lover ends up with a bunch of uncompleted series on their shelf. Happens to me all the time and every year the list just gets longer. I’ve made a list of book series that I’m hoping to start and finish this year. Hopefully. I’ll be doing my best to update you all on the blog every few months with my progress. I have so many series on this list!

Series to finish

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer Series #1) by Laini ... Muse of Nightmares (Strange the Dreamer Series #2) by Laini Taylor ...

Strange the Dreamer is one of my favorite books of all time. A book dedicated to every book lover out there with beautiful writing and amazing characters. And somehow I haven’t read Muse of Nightmares yet? Absolutely unacceptable, I know. I’m determined to read this book this year. Since I can’t leave the house it’s probably about damn time.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Six of Crows: bardugo, leigh: 9781627795098: Books Crooked Kingdom: A Sequel to Six of Crows ...

These books are what everyone is obsessed with. I read Six of Crows a while back and although I had Crooked Kingdom on my shelf it somehow didn’t feel like the right time to read it yet. But with the Netflix series coming soon I can’t not pick this up now. I don’t want to start the show until I’ve read the books, and that leave the Grisha series too.

The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare The Dark Artifices, the Complete Collection: Lady ... Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices): Cassandra Clare ... Queen of Air and Darkness (The Dark Artifices Book 3) (English ...

For someone who loves Cassandra Clare’s books I somehow put off reading Queen of Air and Darkness? This was on my list but I managed to finish the last book earlier this year.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Twilight: Twilight, Book 1 (Twilight Saga) (English Edition) eBook ... New Moon: 2 (Twilight Saga): Stephenie Meyer: Books Eclipse: 3 (Twilight Saga): Stephenie Meyer: Books Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga Book 4) eBook: Meyer ...

No I’ve never read the series aside from the first book. But this year that will change because I was dared by one of my best friends to read the series, and I’m not going to lose that bet. Truthfully, I’ve been wanting to see what else these books have to offer.

Series to start

The Shadow & Bone Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo Shadow and Bone (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy Book 1 ... Siege and Storm (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy ... Ruin and Rising (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy Book 3) (English ...

My goal is to finish all the Grisha books. With the show coming out later this year I want to be ready. I was pretty worried because these books are so hyped and I was just so scared I wouldn’t enjoy them as much as everyone else. So far I’ve read Shadow and Bone and Siege and Storm. I’ve got the last book left!

The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith

395922 The Struggle (The Vampire Diaries, #2) by L.J. Smith The Fury (The Vampire Diaries, #3) by L.J. Smith Dark Reunion (Vampire Diaries, Vol. 4): L. J. Smith: 9780061067754 ...

I wasn’t expecting these to be good that’s one thing. I’ve heard a lot about these books but I wanted to give them a try. I loved the show when I was in middle school/high school and I wanted to see how different they are from the show. The binged all 4 in one month because they were short and the writing was so quick to read. It was okay I guess?

The Daevabad Trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty

The City of Brass (The Daevabad Trilogy, Book 1): ... 39988431. sy475 46033842. sy475

These books are highly underrated! I’ve only seen a couple of people reading this series over the years but I finally picked it up as one of my book clubs reads this year. I’ve binged the first two books and I’m now on the third. My new favorite series ever!

Mirage by Somaiya Daud

32768520. sy475 38621113. sy475

I finally read these and they were so good! I can’t recommend them enough. Please do yourselves a favor and read these books this year.

At least read book 1

An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1) by Sabaa Tahir The Poppy War (The Poppy War, #1) by R.F. Kuang

These two I’m hoping to at least start. Both have been on my tbr for way too long and I want to love it as much as everyone else.

Are there any series you’re hoping to read this year?

  1. I really liked the first twilight but I found New Moon kind of hard to read and it put me off reading the rest; but Eclipse was always my favourite movie so part of me wants to pick it up to see if its okay 🤗🤗

  2. every single time I remember The Vampire Diaries has a book series!!!!!! it rocks my entire world!!!! I miss Bonnie and Damon’s friendship with all my heart, it gave me the intense m/f friendship rep I need for my personal health :’)

  3. I haven’t read Muse of Nightmares either, I read Strange the Dreamer a year ago and feel like I need to reread to get the full experience. I’ll be so interested to see your thoughts on the Twilight books!!

  4. I definitely need to read Stranger the Dreamer and read The Dark Artifices. They’ve been on my shelves foreveerr.

  7. I need to finish the An Ember in the Ashes and The Poppy War series! I’ve finished Twighlight and the ones by Leigh Bardugo. I thought they were all good, but only Six of Crows was reread worthy for me.
