Welcome back to another TBR planning post! Now I’ll be honest with you and mention that last month’s TBR didn’t go according to plan. I only ended up reading 3 of the books on the list but I’m actually pretty glad I got to them. I did start a fun new challenge which is the Genre Jar. I have a strong feeling it’ll be holding me accountable for my monthly TBR. Read on to find out what I plan on reading this month!
What is the Genre Jar?
So, the Genre Jar is one of my latest creations. It’s basically a nudge at me to read books from different genres and age groups. I used it last month and I had the best time. I won’t be using this all the time but I thought I’d pull 3-4 papers as a start out of the jar each month. I’m pretty sure I can manage that. If I finish them and am in the mood to make more pulls then I’ll do that. Otherwise, I’ll mood read through the rest of the month. I’ve already made 4 pulls for this month so come help me pick what to read next!

Pick One: Adult Contemporary / Completed β

This pick was from the end of last month. I hadn’t managed to start The Maid then so it ended up being my first read of August. That’s one pull done! (Thank you Penguin International for the gifted review copy! #Partner)
Pick Two: Sci-Fi

I’ve been meaning to read more sci-fi but haven’t really gotten around to it. I don’t have that many sci-fi books on my tbr but Bird Box is one of the ones I’ve been dying to read. This will most definitely be my pick
Pick Three: Classic

I pulled classic and Little Women immediately sprang to my mind. I’m about halfway through and it’s my goal to finish it this month. Love the story and love the girls so much.
Pick Four: Horror
Okay, for this one I’m going to need some help! Ever since watching Midsommar (last week), I’ve been obsessed with creepy books. Don’t know what’s gotten into me but there you have it. So, help me choose between these!
Pick Five: Adult Contemporary
Another one I need some help with. Since contemporary fits into every genre I’ve picked up some different reads. All 3 I have as audiobooks so this should be interesting! (Thank you Librofm and the publishers for the gifted advanced listener copies!)
To be read
π The Calling of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend – Absolutely loved book one! I’m actually close to the middle of this but I put it on a hold for a while. Looking forward to finishing it.
π Lock Every Door by Riley Sager – I’ve heard so many good things about this one. This will be my first book by Riley Sager. Really excited to see if it lives up to the hype for me π

What’s on your TBR for August?
I really want to read Bunny!!
I finished Beautifull World, Where Are You yesterday and still working through my thoughts on it!

Would love to know your thoughts when you come around to them! I’ve only read 1 Sally Rooney book but I’m looking forward to reading more. Bunny so far is really creepy and weird but I’m enjoying it π
