Books I’ve hauled this year! 📚

When was the last time I posted a book haul? Ages ago but we’re going to pretend I do this regularly. Do I have some exciting books to show you! I’ve brought together books that I’ve bought and was gifted so far this year. I’m honestly kind of surprised that I’ve only bought seven books so far this year. I mean seven books in five months is actually pretty good (gifted books aside). Then again my birthday is coming up so I might add another two or three to the shelves but for now here it is. Read on if you’re at all curious about what I got!

1- Final Girls by Riley Sager★★★★

This might have been my first buy of the year or I’m just making things up but either way, Final Girls! I’m planning on reading my way through Riley Sager’s work. I’ve already read this one and I really enjoyed it. I think Home Before Dark is still my favourite by him but we’ll see what his other books have to offer.

2- Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

Final Girls got me in that thriller/suspense mood but believe it or not I haven’t finished this one yet. I tried reading Gone Girl a few years back but couldn’t really get into it. This one is definitely holding my attention a lot more. It feels really dark which I usually love when it comes to thrillers but the moment wasn’t quite right. I’m hoping to pick it up again this month.

3- All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir★★★★★

This was one of my highly anticipated reads of the year and I can’t explain to you how excited I was when I was sent an advanced copy. This was literally everything I was hoping for and more. The most emotional roller coaster there ever was. I got so attached to these characters and their story. I just love how it was so complex and it had you thinking so many things through. Look out for my review this Wednesday!

Thank you Penguin Random House International for the gifted copy!

4- Hotel Magnifique by Emily J. Taylor

I was sent this one along with All My Rage. So excited to get to it soon! (I need to find another word to replace excited because this is getting exhausting). Don’t you love magical hotels? Its been described as for fans of Caraval (Haven’t read yet) and The Night Circus (Also haven’t read yet) so if those are books you’ve enjoyed keep an eye out for this one next time you go to the bookstore or your library.

Thank you Penguin Random House International for the gifted copy!

5- Somebody Give This Heart a Pen by Sophia Thakur★★★

Was kindly sent a gifted copy of this one for poetry month. Liked quite a lot of these. Some were very easy to relate to. Others weren’t very relatable (to me personally) but were written beautifully. Devoured most of them in one sitting.

Thank you Candlewick Press for the gifted copy!

Now this lovely line up is from this month. I splurged on some books I’ve had my eye on for a while and that I found for some pretty good prices (compared to some other places I checked). This line up is basically early YA days.

6- Cinder by Marissa Meyer

I somehow missed this series completely when I was in my teens and I’m not really sure how. I remember it being really popular at the time but I never got around to it. I’ve had it on my TBR for years and this time I decided to just give in and read it. Obviously haven’t picked it up yet but it’s one of my May hopefuls.

7- Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi★★

I’ve wanted to own the Shatter Me series for a long time. I read this when I was 16/17 and it was one of my favourite series. I bought it because I wanted to start my reread and I thought might as well collect them as I’m rereading. I haven’t started my reread yet so the rating is my old one.

8+9- New Moon + Eclipse

So I’ve made it my mission to read the entire Twilight series. I read book one in 2019 and reread it last month to refresh my memory because let me tell you, I remembered nothing. As cringe as the books are I’m determined to continue the series. The movies were my life when I was in school. It was among the many things that my friends and I were following. It just brings back so many good memories and fuzzy feelings so obviously I need to know if I would have liked the books too. I’m already 100 pages into New Moon and it’s a slog but I’ve got this.

10- Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I got this one two days ago and I’m so thrilled to finally pick it up! I flew through 100 pages yesterday and it’s such a unique and fun read. I’m genuinely thrilled that I’m enjoying it. I know how loved this book is in the book community. Also, the cast? bloody fantastic 👌

11- Book of Night by Holly Black

I ordered this one but it’ll be a while before I get my hands on it. Still, I can’t wait! Holly Black is one of my favourite authors and this is her first adult books series and I just know it’s going to be good.

And that concludes my book haul post! (for now). If you’ve read any of these and have some thoughts please do let me know.

  1. Loved seeing your book haul! 🥰 I hope you enjoy Cinder, I also got around to reading this series a bit later and really enjoyed it 😊 I listened to Daisy Jones on audiobook and loved it, so I hope you continue to enjoy it!
